[ggf-ogsa-sec-wg] Re: [OGSA-AUTHZ] identity management/provisioning work in OASIS TC
Hi Tim,
Thanks for giving a little more details, but could I ask you to drill-down a
little more?
Could you summarize what these requests are used for, what kind of format these
parameters have, how easy it would be to map them to x509/saml-like attributes,
are those wsdl specified interfaces ?
It would be great if someone like you with obvious knowledge of both application
domains could take the lead to educate our community about how we could leverage
these existing standards.
In the mean time, I checked the IP-statements associated with these OASIS
provisioning specs, and it seems that no contributing TC member has made any
claims, which is very encouraging!

Frank,
I believe that the
ProvisionRequest
ModifyProvisionedParameters
operations are good examples of how WS-Provisioning addresses
administrative interfaces for attributes. You have to draw an analogy
between "parameter" and "attribute", but that is rather straightforward.

Hi Raj,
Thanks for the pointers - these are however a few more docs to read and
understand...
Could you help the lazy ones among us by summarizing and pointing out in
some
more details what part of the provisioning specs you believe we could use
for
the admin interfaces of attribute and authz services?
Thanks, Frank.

During the discussion at the F2F meeting today at GGF10, we discussed
the
need for user management, provisioning etc. I mentioned about a related
