Doc/Lit vs. RPC/Enc is an interoperability issue, which NM-WG is concerned about. If we assume Doc/Lit, then defining an XML schema automatically provides for syntactically interoperable implementations. Otherwise, we need to define the mapping to RPC/Enc.
Also, what exactly does the statement above mean? Are you talking about
schema stability? If so, why does that have anything to do with Doc/Lit. Doc/Lit is merely an implementation issue and to me that means that the
nm-wg should not really be concerned about.
I believe that Mark will soon produce something to this effect, based on discussions before and during GGF12.
Please correct me if I am missing something that is in the schema that
requires the doc/lit approach.
