[nm-wg] comments needed on documents

The last step in the GGF document process is the public comments period. There are two documents in public comment related to the NMWG and GHPNRG. Please take a few minutes to review these documents and make comments. Even if your comment is just that you're generally familiar with the work and it's a good idea or useful, that type of comment is necessary to the process. Comments for both documents are needed very soon, so please try to help as soon as possible.

The NMWG has written a draft, "A Hierarchy of Network Performance Characteristics for Grid Applications and Services." It is designed as the first step towards a GGF standard for exchange of the measurements many of us are already taking across grid networks. You can download the current draft from <http://www-didc.lbl.gov/NMWG/docs/draft-ggf-nmwg-hierarchy-02.pdf>

Guy Almes has made some comments on needed clarifications to the delay section. Comments more or less detailed are equally welcome.

(probably easiest just to post anonymously and sign your name, unless you have a regular sourceforge (not gridforge) account)

The DAMED WG wrote a document, "Disovery and Monitoring Event Description," which was intended as a first pass at exchanging the most important measurements that are already taken. It has already been useful to several groups as a starting point for discussing and representing measurements. It's not the long-term goal, but it serves as a good starting point.

The document can be downloaded from <http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ggf/GGF-DAMED.pdf?download>

Thanks for your help with the document process.
