BACKGROUND:
The decision to hold the workshop was made at the Global Grid

include:

  * Grid portal protocol definitions
  * Integration of XML schemas from existing portal projects
    and GGF/GIS

    as discussed at GGF1
  * Panel discussions/breakout session:  Perl/Java/PHP/Python/CORBA
  * Possible project demo/discssion (only if time and group
    interest prevails)

The goal will be to arrive at a set of agreed upon standards to
be included in the white papers that were proposed at GGF1. The
results of this workshop will be presented at GGF2, in Washington
this July. As discussed, this meeting will be limited to portal
developers, and is not a general conference.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Grid portal developers, GCE members, and Grid service developers
interest in participating in protocol definitions used by portals
that are interoperable with other GGF working groups. The workshop
focus will be on completing tasks identified at GGF1 in Amsterdam.
Presentations relevant to the agenda will are solicited, but they
should not be project presentations.

This is not a general workshop, and all registrants will be reviewed.

If you care to be part of the organizing committee, please
let us know.

Hope to see you in May -
