Mary, et al.,

I think this is a very important discussion.  Specifically from the
programming
model/tool perspective, what is it that portals, or PSEs or general
applications
need from the grid?  (Mary's question #3 in the previous email.)  Are
components
appropriate?  Do we need interface discovery?  Do we need interface data
models
to enable composition?  Is a simpler RPC model sufficient?  What could be cast
as a "grid-service-level protocol" that just defines byte field ordering and
state transitions (and relies on traditional network protocols for routing,
reliable delivery, etc.)?

It would be good to get a rough consensus on what portal and PSE builders
need.
